  • Pinpointing the Major Diabetes Causes

Diabetes is becoming more common every day. Think about your social circle. Among them, there is most likely at least one who has diabetes. They will at least know someone who has diabetes if they don't themselves. In the western world, and beyond it really, it is becoming incredibly common. The types of diabetes are Type 1 and Type 2. If you are insulin dependent, you have Type 1. At any point, you can develop type 1 diabetes. Type 2 is also called adult onset diabetes because it occurs during adulthood; those diagnosed with it are not insulin dependent. Here are some major causes of this disease.

Gender is not exactly something you can control (except superficially in some cases), but can be one of the causes of Type 1 and 2 diabetes. Men are more susceptible to coming down with diabetes than women are. Unluckily, you can't actually do anything about this. However, if you're a man, it is crucial for you to be more alert for indicators of the disease and should be keeping track of the facets of your lifestyle that could trigger the disease to manifest itself in your body. Be watchful! Surely, you women should also keep an eye out (but maybe not quite as much). Studies have shown that there are environmental factors that can cause Type 1 diabetes, as well. The most common example is when a person develops diabetes after having contracted a viral infection. Not every one with a viral infection will develop diabetes. If you have the disease, however, and were not born with it, it is possible that you could have contracted it as a side effect/leftover variant of an unavoidable viral infection. The fact that viral infections are common can be scary when tied in with diabetes. But seeing your doctor when you don't feel well, can help you avoid this outcome. You never know what could develop from a seemingly simple condition.

Most people know that their diet is a key factor to either avoiding or developing diabetes. A well rounded diet of nutritious and natural foods will help you avoid developing diabetes. One particularly strong aggressor of diabetes is soda. Cutting out soda is thee best dietary change you can make to reduce your risk of diabetes. The actual decrease in risk is reported to be around one third. You can further reduce your risk by eating more fruits and vegetables and fewer chips. Don't worry, after a while you won't miss the unhealthy stuff at all.

Believe it or not diabetes is one disease have almost complete control over now. Even the diabetes causes that once eluded us are common knowledge now. We are now much more able to identify those factors that make us more likely to develop diabetes. Thankfully if you do get diabetes there are plenty of options for treating and controlling it. The mystery of diabetes has now been primarily solved. If you know what you are looking for you can likely avoid being subjected to diabetes.
